Steward Health Care Plans to Sell Physician Network to Optum

Financially troubled Steward Health Care has announced plans to sell its physician network to Optum Care, a division of UnitedHealth Group, for an undisclosed sum. Dallas-based Steward has faced significant financial trouble in Massachusetts, where it operates nine healthcare facilities. It will permanently close New England Sinai Acute Long-Term Care And Rehabilitation Hospital in Stoughton on April 2.
